Desires

A mom brought her 20 yr old daughter to me for Children's analysis. There were very mild signs of depression and aggression in her writing and I made a note to mention it in the end.

The session started well. She actually giggled with me on few occasions. Everything seemed normal.
I mentioned that she was a rebel and the kid looked down. Mom didn't say anything. I went to the next point. I don't recall what my next point was but the mother blurting out that the child sleeps more than 16 hours a day and seems dead to her even when she is awake. I didn't know what to say. So far the session seemed so normal. I would have never guessed that even in my dreams. Thankfully, the child spoke before I had to and said, "I don't have any desires" I said that it was an ideal state according to me with respects to spirituality. To have no desires. Her mom laughed. "She is not religious or bhakti oriented" The kid and I ignored her mom for sometime, The kid looked pleased to hear that this was the ideal state for something at least.. I asked her why and how... She said "whatever I want, I never get. God is so not there. What is the point in living?" To this her mom said that she talks like this at home also and doesn't eat well.. I gave the poor kid an hour long lecture about desires, spirituality, law of attraction and affirmations and all that I have learnt in life so far. The kid hopefully seemed better.

The conversation with kid taught me an important lesson. Not getting your desires filled can also lead you to spirituality. It might not last long, He leads us to him in more ways than one. He knows best.
